How to Enroll Online
The 10 Step Enrollment Process
Step #1 - Request PIN
The first step is to request a PIN. The PIN number will be unique to your enrollment and is required for security purposes. It can be delivered to you via email or USPS. Complete the PIN request form below. If you select email, Alerus will send a separate email within 24 hours with the PIN and instructions. If you are having issues obtaining your PIN contact us. In preparation for enrolling online, we recommend you review the Before You Begin page.
Step #2 - Log Onto www.alerusrb.com
- Log onto www.alerusrb.com.
- Select Login
- Select Retirement Access
STEP #3 - Enter SSN
At the User ID prompt, enter your SSN (Social Security Number) and press Enter.
STEP #4 - ENTER PIN
On the next page, enter the PIN that was emailed or mailed to you.
STEP #5 - Create new Login Information
Follow the prompts to create a new, unique User ID and Password for the site. Please include your email and answer the security questions.
STEP #6 - Accept Participant Terms and Conditions
Review and accept the participant terms and conditions.
Step #7 - Review Personal Details
If this information is incorrect, please contact HR.
STEP #8 - Set Payroll Deduction
If you have questions regarding the payroll deduction limits, visit the Learn More section of this website.
Step #9 - Select Investment Portfolio
If you have questions regarding an appropriate investment portfolio, visit the Investing Help section of this website.
Step #10 - Confirm Enrollment is Complete
It is important to confirm that the enrollment process is complete and the proper amount is being deducted from your paycheck. First we recommend that you print or save a PDF of the enrollment confirmation; then we recommend that you:
- Check Your Pay Stub
- you should see your contribution listed under the DCT payroll deduction code for Pre-Tax Contributions and DCR for After-Tax Roth Contributions
- Log Onto the Participant Website
- log onto the participant website at www.alerusrb.com and review your account.
- Review Quarterly Statements
If you do not see the payroll deduction code on your paycheck and are not receiving statements, the enrollment process has most likely not been completed and you should contact HR.
